“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…” –1 Corinthians 13:4-8
When we first Skyped with Wes and hope we immediately felt a connection with them and knew their love was definitely something remarkable. They were all smiles talking about their wedding plans!
Wes and hope met at the Church at Brookhills. Wes asked Hope to come eat with his entire family after service. At their engagement session he said, “I still cannot believe she said yes to eat lunch with a stranger!”
Hope told us Wes took her to a family friend’s cabin one day after church, and there were a rose petals all along the porch and a sign that read, “I love you to the sun and back and I have a question for you” (since she always told Wes she loved him to the moon and back)
There he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife.
The ceremony was held at one of Wes’ close friends home. It was in the backyard in the alongside their beautiful lake with a gorgeous alter made of large trees. Wes and Hope told us they are perfect day would be spent outside near the water in a hammock, so this backdrop fit their personalities perfectly.
Hope not only did a first look with her groom, but also shared a special moment with her father and grandfather before the ceremony. Her grandfather is not a man of many words but gasped when he saw her in her dress!
Hope was radiant as she walked towards Wes at their ceremony. To remember her grandmothers memory, they gave roses to her grandfather and one of Wes’ groomsmen played a original song he wrote for them. Wes’ brother in law preformed their ceremony and prayed for both of them with their wedding party beforehand …one of our favorite parts of the day!
They partied the night away at their reception (we were very impressed with Wes’ dance moves)! Thank you again for allowing us to share in your amazing wedding day Mr. and Mrs. Walker!
